9465248864_1cd68e4dc3_zWell friends, we’re finally reaching the end of July. It’s county fair week here in my town and it’s a busy time of year.

I used to do 4H and I LOVED it. While I miss it very much, I’m really looking forward to actually getting to enjoy the fair this year, rather than being there and working with my animals and other projects from 5am-10pm or later everyday this week. I am on the Fair Board in my county now, and that means I still have to do some work at the fair, but much less than when I was in 4H.

Hopefully, August will slow down and have less activities than July, though I do know my BFF is coming to visit for one weekend in August! Plus, I’m hoping time flies between now and October, when I’ll have some much-needed cashflow available since I will have at least one more debt paid off!! 🙂

Here is my budegt plan for August:

CategoryMonthly Total
DIFFERENCE-$0.24
Charity$10.00
EF$20.00
Morgage$852.28
House Repairs$15.00
City Bill$125.00
Gas$15.56
Cable$77.88
Internet$51.87
Phone$102.76
Food$120.00
Car Fuel$60.00
Car Repairs$15.00
Car Insurance$93.44
Clothes and Hair$40.00
Pets$40.00
Household$30.00
Personal$30.00
Crossfit$80.00
Cleaning$72.00
Debt$577.91
TOTAL$2,429.70
INCOME$2,428.46

Not many changes for August. My rates on things like TV, internet, Netflix, cell phone, etc are pretty stable. I will, of course, try to put more toward savings and debt than what I have projected.

I do know that I have a few annual appointments, dentist and eye doctor, scheduled for August so I’m not sure how much those are going to cost me, but some of it may end up having to come out of my EF 🙁

    1. Thanks Kara! I figure that lots of people had to volunteer over the years when I was in 4H and displayed stuff at the county fair, so it’s only fair that I give back by volunteering now that I’m an adult. Plus, I love 4H and the fair!

  1. I hope you have fun at the fair! It sounds like fun. I think October will be here before we know it, with the way the summer (and year) has been going! August is iffy for me – I need to get my cats to the vet for a check-up, and my car needs a check-up, so I’m really hoping everything is fine and there are no extra expenses. We managed to save a decent amount this month, at least.

    1. Good that you were able to save extra in July! Hope things with your pets and car go BETTER than expected. 🙂

  2. August should be better for us than June and July – it’s a three-paycheck month!! Although I hate to wish away one second of the summer, I’ll be back at work in September, and that’ll be very helpful to our debt payments!

    1. I LOVE eating out. My “personal” money is for eating out or “going out” with friends. I must admit that I occasionally use some of the unbudgeted money from my part-time job for those kinds of things (instead of extra debt payments too). Also, since I feed my dad lunch most days, when we do eat out, he often graciously offers to pay since he eats my groceries the rest of the time.

  3. I have a feeling August will be tight. I need to save a little more for a weekend trip I’m taking in September, but don’t want to sacrifice paying extra toward my debt. I might have to get creative and sell a few things 🙂
