I am a total believer in the theory that being a woman costs more than being a man.
Not only do we generally spend more on our appearances by buying fancy clothes, shoes, jewelry, and accessories, we also spend more time and money in the salon on our hairstyles and on cosmetics.
Every morning I start out with a cup of Joe. Then I make my way into my closet to select my outfit for the day’s activities. Next, I head into my bathroom where I will spend the next 30 minutes or so styling my hair and “putting on my face”.
According to several sources, women in the U.S. spend about $15,000 on cosmetics alone during their lifetime.
When I first read this amount, I thought it was outrageous and over estimated. Surely, I thought, there are only a few women who approach this amount of cosmetics spending in their lifetimes. But then I added it up:
