Yesterday was my birthday and while I didn’t get to spend too much time just relaxing, I was very productive and I got A LOT accomplished.
This past weekend I went with my mom and my friend S to Denver on Saturday, which is about a 3.5 hour drive, to do some shopping and have some fun. We left my hometown at about 6:30 a.m., so it was an early morning.
I didn’t do too bad with my shopping at all, especially consider all of the temptations I encountered while we were there. In fact, most everything I bought was stuff for my ongoing house projects.
After we got back at 2:30 a.m. I crashed! Then I spent Sunday working at my part-time job and working on my house projects that I had bought things for.
Because of sheer exhaustion, I ended up quitting my project early and going to bed at about 8:30 p.m. (You can only be so productive with 5 hours of sleep after shopping for over 18 hours!)
Then yesterday I had to work at my full-time job and I spent a little time catching up with my side hustle too. After work my dad and I finished my outdoor project and also put a couple finishing touches on my home office. After all, completing my home office was on my list of 2015 goals with the deadline of my birthday. We finished just in time 🙂
Here is a look at my outdoor project:
That’s the front of my house with the 3 new shrubs we put in the landscaping area. I’m so excited to finally have the front yard 100% complete. Now I just have to maintain it 🙂
And here’s a final look at my home office:
I’m really enjoying being able to work in an office that is decorated with my favorite colors! It’s fun and inspiring, plus I have a designated work area now rather than just trying to set my stuff up all over the kitchen table or some other flat surface. The only thing left to do is make a peacock colored/themed curtain for the window. Hopefully I’ll have some time to get that done in the near future. 🙂
Yes, there’s still some clutter in places and yes I have a ton of stuff, haha, but I’m sure it’ll always be a work-in-progress of some sort. So I’m happy with it for now.
Just in case you don’t remember, here is what my home office looked like when I first started my organization project:
Now you can tell just how much better it is!
Now that these projects are done it’s time to move on to the next one: the back yard. It’s going to be a huge undertaking. Stay tuned for more details as the back yard is the expensive project I mentioned last Friday.
What’s the last house project you tackled? What projects do you still have on your list to be done? Were you productive this weekend?
