Online Income: $2,130 in June 2015

Holy Smokes! Next week marks my 1 year anniversary for freelancing online!! I’m really excited about that, but at the same time, I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I first started freelance writing for blogs and doing VA work.

I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am today if it weren’t for people like Cat from Budget Blonde and Michelle from Making Sense of Cents helping me get started with my online business. Not only have I seen financial benefits from building my online business, but I’ve also grown as a person, learned a lot about life, and I’ve started dreaming again. No, I don’t mean I never had dreams in my sleep, I mean I’ve started dreaming about what life could be besides being stuck at a desk all day long M-F every week. For that, I am the most grateful of all.

There are some powerful people in this community of side hustlers and I’ve forever grateful that they are so kind and willing so share how they built their businesses and are willing to help new freelancers get started too.

Anyway, here is my online income report for June.

My online income for June 2015: $2,130.25 – I tied my highest income month ever!

Here is a breakdown of how I earned my money:

VA/Blog Management Services – $859.75

Writing – $1,087.50

Advertising on SHNM – $180.00

Other – $3.00

My income was up from May, partially because I negotiated some raises from some of my clients, but also because I took on some additional work too.

Then at the end of the month, I lost a couple of clients, which made me sad, but I also gained 3 new clients too. This is the ups and downs of freelancing that seem to happen all the time. I did beat my June goal, which was $1,500, so I’m happy about that too. I also expect my July income to be even higher than June, which is great!

As always, you need to know that I don’t count my online income until the month it gets deposited into my account, so this is from some work at the end of May through about mid-June. I have made some more since then, but it will be included on my next report since it didn’t hit my account until July 1st (or later).

Remember, that my online income has not yet been taxed, which means that about 30% of what I make is going to be taken by Uncle Sam, and another portion of my income will be used for expenses, like internet, computer repairs, tech services, my staff writer, and PayPal fees. Additionally, I’m saving some of my income to be used for FINCON15!

While I’m enjoying my online work, I’m certainly no pro at blogging or at making money online, but if I can get started you can too! I’m going to set my July income goal at $1,750! I’m excited to see my income and goals going up over time.

For kicks and giggles I decided to average my monthly online income for the 12 months I’ve been freelancing. Even with the smaller months at the very beginning, my average monthly online income (gross) is $1,203.22, and it keeps going up which is great!
