February marked the 8th month of freelancing for my little online business and it was a short, busy, but great month. I did begin to feel a little overwhelmed at times when looking at my to-do list, but then I reminded myself to just take it one day and one task at a time.
In February, I joined the team at Careful Cents and I have been doing some behind-the-scenes work over there. In addition, my first post on the Careful Cents blog will be up mid-March! I’m very excited about this opportunity.
Along with working my tushie off with all of freelance work, I’ve also been working with Grayson and several others on a new logo and blog re-design for ShoeaholicNoMore. How do you like it? I’m LOVING it!
I’m still growing my business, so if you know someone in need of a writer, VA, blog manager, advertising management help, or social media management help, be sure to send them my way.
My online income for February 2015: $1,534.00
Here is a breakdown of how I earned my money:
VA/Blog Management Services – $802.00
Writing – $680.00
Advertising on SHNM – $40.00
Other – $12.00
I beat my income goal for February by about 50% which is amazing! I’m very excited about my February income as it’s my highest month yet and it isn’t just due to timing on payments.
As always, you need to know that I don’t count my online income until the month it gets deposited into my account, so this is from some work at the end of January through about mid-February. I have made some more since then, but it will be included on my next report since it didn’t hit my account until March 1st (or later).
Remember, that my online income has not yet been taxed, which means that about 30% of what I make is going to be taken by Uncle Sam, and another portion of my income will be used for expenses, like internet, computer repairs, and PayPal fees. I also decided to use a portion of my “profits” to pay for my site re-design. Additionally, I’m saving some of my income to be used for FINCON15!
While I’m enjoying my online work, I’m certainly no pro at blogging or at making money online, but if I can get started you can too! If you have any questions about how to get started blogging, freelancing, or about my online income don’t hesitate to contact me! I promise that I will do my best to answer your questions and if I can’t I will point you to someone who can!
Since I’m continuing to grow my business, I’m going to set my March income goal at $1,200! This is my highest income goal to date.
Here are my other online income reports to-date:
January 2015 – $596.00
December 2014 – $1,503.50
November 2014 – $753
October 2014 – $1,080
September 2014 – $581
August 2014 – $280
July 2014 – $285
For kicks and giggles I decided to average my monthly income for the 8 months I’ve been freelancing. Even with the smaller months at the very beginning, my average month freelance income (gross) is $826.56.
Did you make any online income in February?

Thanks Chonce!
Great job Kayla! I love the new design, looking good 🙂
No online income for me yet, I have yet to make the jump into freelancing but I’m getting closer. It’s tough when you’ve got a full time job that demands 10-12 hours of your day and adding even more onto it. I’m determined to get started by the end of the year though. We’ll see how it goes.
I totally understand what you are saying! By the time I get done freelancing at night, I’ve usually spent about 11-14 hours on the computer. Yikes!
This is great! Great job!
Can you tell me where you got the widget for your debt payoff goals, or is that code you made? Thanks! 🙂
I wrote that code, but I’d be happy to email it to you.
Wow, Kayla!! Congrats on both the awesome new look, and doubling your Feb. income goal!!
Thanks Amy!
Great job! You are doing well 🙂
Thanks Michelle!
Amazing online income! I am not attempting to make money from my blog, but maybe some day…

Thanks Holly!
I absolutely love the site redesign!! It looks fantastic.
Thanks Michelle! I’m really enjoying it too. 🙂
Great job Kayla!
Thanks Alexis!
Wow you had a great online income month! My husband and I started a money blog but have yet to make anything from it. I love reading all these updates from bloggers across the internet–it’s very motivational!
It’s still very motivational to me too. I still make VERY LITTLE off of my actual blog, the majority of my income is made by working for others. (Though I am working on monetizing my own blog more!)
